Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancy for the 2022-2023 School Year

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.
Location:Community Education
JOB Description: To assist in the coordination of the Community Education Early Childhood Programs to ensure proper supervision and activities for students. Primarily to assist during mid-day coverage in various classrooms.

  1. Early Childhood Experience preferred
  2. Experience working with age appropriate students.
  3. Related school experience desirable.
  4. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education.
REPORTS TO: Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community Education

Perform various instructional, clerical and other related duties, under the direction of the teacher, to aid in meeting the objectives of the program, including the following:
  1. Assist the teachers in providing coverage during breaks.
  2. Ability to Implement and create activities for small groups.
  3. Accept and adhere to all guidelines set forth.
  4. Report necessary problems and/or information to teacher or supervisor.
  5. Confer with teachers, team leaders and other appropriate personnel regarding students' individualized needs.
  6. Assist with the supervision of students.
  7. Assume responsibility for classroom in teacher's short absence.
  8. Assume responsibility for all necessary personal care needs of the children. This includes, but is not limited to, toileting care and feeding requirements.
  9. Perform other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.
  10. Attend and complete all required trainings.
  1. Start date is ASAP.
  2. Program Hours 7am-5pm
  3. Position Hours are 10:45 am -2:30 pm
  4. Work year is 186 days including 180 school days, the day before school starts, the day after school ends, 1 set up day, 1 clean up day, 2 professional days.
  5. Position includes a 15-minute break to be scheduled by the Supervisor.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in writing by the Lion's Pride Supervisor.
