To provide diagnostic assessments for team evaluations on students Standardized and non-standardized tests and observation are used to evaluate: General Development, Gross Motor, Fine Motor, Adaptive, Perceptual/Visual Motor Sensory Integration, Functions, Postural Reflexes, Activities of Daily Living, Pre-Vocational, Analysis of Factors in Specific, Handicapping Conditions, Need for adaptive devices
Evaluate students’ occupational needs and develop measurable goals/objectives and accommodations.
Deliver occupational therapy services within an integrated therapies approach with ongoing consultation with other therapists and classroom staff
Provide individual and group therapies for students in accordance with student IEPs.
Conduct evaluations and provide written evaluation reports in accordance to mandated special education timelines
Provide written progress reports as otherwise required
Attend IEP and other meetings as deemed needed by the Principal, Coordinator, Evaluation Team Leader or Administrator of Special Education
Consults with evaluation team members, special education teachers, and classroom teachers regarding student programs
Consults with outside parties regarding student services by O.T. to obtain recommendations for service in school setting
Maintains a close working relationship with parents
Attends IST meetings to discuss teacher concerns and provide strategies relating to ot needs
Assigns, constructs or requests appropriate adaptive equipment and devices for students and/or classroom and provide training in its usage to appropriate personnel
Provides in-service training or conduct parent workshops on normal growth and development (neuro-motor, sensory-motor, fine, and gross)
Attend all Special Education Department meetings
Other responsibilities/duties as assigned by the administrator(s).

•Bachelors Degree at required; Masters Degree preferred
•Licensed in Massachusetts
•Registered Occupational Therapist by National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists
•Understanding of school based therapy and related assessment practices
•Experience providing inclusive services within general education classes
•Strong organizational skills
