Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of a Vacancy for the 2023- 2024 School Year Early Childhood Social Worker (Part-Time) .6 FTE The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.
Position: Early Childhood Social Worker (Part-Time) .6 FTE Location: CHIPS
Description: Under the supervision of the Preschool Coordinator, the social worker will use a relationship-based model to support the psychological and social well-being of preschool students and families. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the social worker will work closely with teachers, therapists, BCBAs and families to conduct observations and therapies in the Chelmsford Integrated Preschool (CHIPS) and community settings. Responsibilities and Duties: • Observe, assess and treat children and families in the preschool setting and other natural environments • Provide dyadic work with preschoolers and their primary caregivers • Provide family support, parent training, and case management • Provide consultation to teachers and related service providers • Provide crisis intervention services • Serve as liaison between home, school and community resources • Assist with making referrals to community resources as needed • Participate in the team based initial assessments for special education eligibility • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation for students • Attend supervision, team meetings, and case consultations, provide social emotional learning instruction and support in the preschool classroom Qualifications and Skills: • License in Social Work • Knowledge of early childhood development • Experience working with early childhood population preferred • Experience working in diverse communities • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
