Title: Nurse (.4 FTE, Part-time)
Position Summary: Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School seeks a qualified School Nurse to start in the 2023-2024 school year.
Duties and Responsibilities (Not limited to):
Manages a comprehensive school health program consistent with the Massachusetts guidelines, regulation and statutes governing nursing and school health
Organizes and implements state-mandated programs such as immunizations, surveillance, and screening programs (vision, hearing, postural)
Maintains comprehensive school health records for each student based on nursing assessment and medical information
Carries out communicable disease prevention and infection control based on current guidelines for universal precautions, prevention of blood borne pathogens exposure and hazardous medical waste disposal
Collaborates with providers and the Board of Health/Health Dept. to investigate and surveillance of disease and conduct contact tracing within the school
Provides medically prescribed interventions, including medication administration (based on state regulations) and provides care to ill children on a daily basis
Provides first aid to injured children and staff and triage to appropriate health care providers. Documents in the electronic health system.
Attends weekly house meetings, makes home visits as needed, attends IEP and 504 meetings and collaborates with other team members
Develops and implements individualized health care plans for students when needed. Documents, monitors, and works in collaboration with the athletic department with regards to concussed students.
Is current in health knowledge trends, attends continuing education activities related to current clinical knowledge and professional issues
Offers professional development and training to staff as needed by the district
Other nursing duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university, preferred
Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a School Nurse by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (MA DESE), preferred
Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in Massachusetts
Current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation
1 to 3 years of experience in school, pediatric or public health nursing

Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School is organized in a house system.
Ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grade students are divided among four
houses. Each house is staffed by an associate principal, counselors, and a house
assistant, with access to a clinical counselor and curriculum/scheduling
support. Additional services are provided through special education.
