Job Description
Westfield Public Schools seeks qualified applicants for the following anticipated vacancy:

REQUIREMENTS:
Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:
  1. Provide direct and consultative therapeutic and evaluative services for the diagnostic, preventative and interventive purposes in the school setting.
  2. Conduct descriptive and systematic behavioral assessments. Develop/assist with individual behavior management programs for students in the classroom setting.
  3. Provide program/individual staff consultation on design/implementation of BIPs.
  4. Provide program/individual staff consultation on development/implementation of Discrete Trials curriculum.
  5. Schedule and document provision of services to students, as outlined on IEPs Maintain daily intervention notes. Provide guidance for and indirect monitoring of staff entries in daily intervention notes.
  6. Knowledge of best practices and laws governing students with disabilities; skill in communicating assessment results both orally and in writing; interpersonal communication, consultation, and skills necessary to work effectively with students, parents, teachers and administrators.
  7. Provide support and training in the area of behavioral intervention.
  8. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
REPORTS TO: Special Education Supervisor and Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services.

Terms of employment and salary will be established through individual employment agreement.

Performance on this position will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.

This position subject to grant funding.

Job Requirements
<b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b> <ul><li>Master’s degree in field of education, psychology, special education or related field. <li>Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA®) <li>Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis required. <li>Experience using consultant/interventionist models, behavior management, therapeutic intervention, and working with social agencies. <li>Experience working with children with developmental disabilities.</ul> <b>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</b> Work is generally conducted within school building. Ability to travel throughout the school building is necessary. Position involves sitting and the ability to travel from one place to another within the classroom. Work is light in nature with regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above, generally of desk and file drawers. Frequent use of hands to operate keyboards and telephones and other office equipment.
