Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Vacancy for the 2022- 2023 School Year

The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Middle School Paraprofessional

Description: Work with Middle School children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classrooms to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
  • Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
  • Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
  • Knowledge of special education procedures and IEPs
  • Provide support (accommodations & modifications) to students with academic tasks.
  • Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
  • Support students with social, communication and/or ADL skills including assisting with toileting as needed.
  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the Middle School level.
  • Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education
    coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
  • Successful candidate will have a positive attitude and must work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to build relationships with students and colleagues and provide ongoing support and direction to students.
  • Ability to work as a team and collaborate.

    Qualified applicants may be eligible for an annual "toileting " stipend if applicable.
    Qualified applicants may be eligible for additional paid training (outside of regular school hours.)
    Position is eligible for paid sick, personal and bereavement time.

Providing education for about 940 students from grades 5-8, we are one of the largest middle schools in the Merrimack Valley.
