The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Recess/Lunch Aide

Location: McCarthy Middle School

Description: To provide student supervision to maintain a well-organized, smoothly-functioning school environment.

  • Build a good rapport with students
  • Provide supervision of students in cafeteria and at recess
  • Provide clerical support when needed
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks as needed

    Reports to: School Principal

    Hours per week: 15 hours per week, 3 hours per day (10:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.) Monday-Friday. Schedule may vary.

    Salary: $9,110.00 annually

The C. Edith McCarthy Middle School is one of two middle schools in Chelmsford. Providing education for about 940 students from grades 5-8, we are one of the largest middle schools in the Merrimack Valley. Job Requirements
<ul> <li>High School Diploma <li>Experience working with children preferred. <li>Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the middle school level. <li>Experience working with age appropriate students in a school setting. <li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable. <li>Must work well as a member of a team <li>Ability to build relationships with student and provide ongoing support and direction.
