NOTIFICATION OF VACANCY
Applications will be accepted for a clerical staff position in the Westfield Public Schools for the Summer EDventure Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 10, 2023 and continue for four weeks, Monday –Thursday (no Friday dates) ending on August 3, 2023.
Training Dates:June 14, 2023 staff meeting, 3:30pm-4:30pm July 6, 2023 (all staff) 8:30am-3:00pm (1/2 hour unpaid lunch)
Hours8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday Student Hours:9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday Starting Date:June 14, 2023 Ending Date:August 3, 2023 Hourly RateAt contractual rate.
POSITION:
Clerical: 4 week program and specified professional development listed above. Position funded through ESSER Grant.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of authorized administrators shall: Answer incoming phone calls. Greet visitors- guest sign in and visitor badges. Follow district norms related to Main Door Protocol, Front Desk Etiquette, Phone Etiquette, and E-Mail Etiquette. Assist with the supervision of students during emergency drills, school events, and field trips. Parent contacts/phone calls - document calls on log (provided). Daily phones for absent students. Inventory curriculum items/books/games/other items. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Pick up weekly time cards from teachers and staff. Assist with Youth Works employees. Assist in duties relating to the supervision of playground, lavatories, cafeteria, student arrival, and bus loading activities. Maintain a positive demeanor with staff, students, parents, and visitors. Any other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator, Administrator of Student Interventions, and Director of Assessment and Accountability.
REPORTS TO: Summer Program Site Coordinator and Administrator of Student Interventions
EVALUATION: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Unit D contract.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma/Associate's degree (preferred) or related course work.
Demonstrated interest in children and education.
Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and students.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is generally conducted within the school building. Ability to travel throughout the school building is necessary. Position involves sitting and the ability to travel from one place to another within the building. Work is light in nature with regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above, generally of desk and file drawers. Frequent use of hands to operate keyboards and telephones and other office equipment.
