NOTIFICATION OF VACANCIES:

Applications will be accepted for the position of the Rising Grades K-5 Summer EDventure Site Coordinator in the Westfield Public School District. This program is scheduled to begin July 10, 2023 and end August 3, 2023. The duration of the program is for four weeks, Monday –Thursday (no Friday dates).

Training Dates:
June 14, 2023 (staff meeting – 3:30 to 4:30 PM)
July 6, 2023 (8:30 to 3:00 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch)
Coordinator Hours:8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday
Student Hours:9 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Preparation Time:20 hours
Starting Date:Immediately
Ending Date:August 4, 2023

POSITIONS:

1 COORDINATOR: Not to exceed 107 hours at $46.65 with no benefits – funded through ESSER Grant

REPORTS TO: Administrator of Student Interventions, Director of Assessment and Accountability, and the Superintendent of Schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee curriculum implementation and instruction.
Support the implementation of the program to include the Nature curriculum, Fitness curriculum, and Community Service Learning initiative.
Supervise instructional staff.
Maintain student attendance records.
Maintain records of grade level meetings.
Manage the day to day operations of the summer school program.
Address any student disciplinary issues.
Support and supervise student volunteers.
Manage the assessment schedule.
Create the program master schedule and teacher schedules.
Communicate with parents regarding student progress and attendance.
Monitor students while waiting for bus transportation at the beginning and end of the program.
Coordinate special events and/or field trips.
Collect time cards.
Coordinate Family Open House.
Support both staff and students to create a positive learning climate and community.
Attend all training sessions prior to program start date.

Perform any duties that may be assigned by the Administrator of Student Interventions, Director of Assessment and Accountability, or the Superintendent of Schools.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Massachusetts administrator certification Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university Previous administrative experience in facilitating summer programs is preferred

  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
