NOTIFICATION OF VACANCIES:
Applications will be accepted for three (3) paraprofessional positions in the Westfield Public School District for the 2023 Summer EdVenture Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 10, 2023 and continue for four weeks, Monday – Thursday (no Friday dates) ending on August 3, 2023.
Training Dates:June 14, 2023 staff meeting, 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm
July 6, 2023 (all staff) 8:30 am – 3:00 pm with ½ hour unpaid lunch
Paraprofessional Hours:8:45 a.m. – 1:15 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Student Hours:9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Starting Date:June 14, 2023
Ending Date:August 3, 2023
POSITIONS: Seeking three (3) Paraprofessionals (1 Library, 1 Kindergarten, 1 Floating)
FUNDING: Rate of Pay: Commensurate with current hourly rate with no benefits, not to exceed a total of 79 hours
Funded via the ESSER Grant
REPORTS TO: Program Site Coordinator and Administrator of Student Interventions
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and all students
Help prepare for activities in the classroom
Familiarity with elementary interventions and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS)
Support small group work according to levels of language acquisition and cognitive development
Provide one-on-one assistance when needed
Walk students back and forth to designated areas for scheduled activities
Provide clarification in native language when requested by classroom teacher
Join students for breakfast and lunch
Assist with arrival and dismissal of students.
Assist in communication between student and teacher, when needed.
Attend field trips.
May be assigned to more than one classroom.
Perform any duties that may be assigned by the Administrator of Student Interventions and Site Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
Prior related summer program experience preferred High School/Trade School degree preferred Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required |
