Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Teaching Vacancy for the 2022- 2023 School Year
The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget. Position: Extended Day Junior Counselor Location: Chelmsford Elementary Schools/Parker Middle School/Chelmsford Community Ed JOB DESCRIPTION: Offer our students an amazing Before/After school experience filled with games, laughter and positive interaction. REPORTS TO: Childcare Supervisor and Director of Community Education JOB GOAL: To assist in providing an enriching, exciting, and fun after school experience to the children enrolled in our Chelmsford Community Education Programs, ensuring all participants have a memorable time during any activities provided.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. A High School student of at least 15 years of age with Working Papers. 2. Related experience working with children/teens desirable. 3. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the Director of Community Education. 5. CORI and fingerprinting completed and accepted.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Supervisor in implementing the daily provided program plan. 2. Working with children ages K-6th Grade in a positive and supportive manner. 3. Ability to work on the floor, lift over 50 lbs, work in outdoors during all weather conditions, stay on their feet, and other physical requirements as needed. Some programs will be outdoors daily, during the cold, rain or shine. 4. Under direction of Supervisor, implement plans and activities to help children with behavioral or physical challenges. 5. Willingness to be trained. 6. Accept and Adhere to all guidelines set forth in handbooks. 7. Report all necessary problems and/or information to supervisor. 8. Assist with the supervision of students. 9. Assume responsibility for classroom/students during the Supervisor's/Counselors short absence. 10. Perform all other related duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate. 11. Attend and complete all required training. 12. Perform various instructional, clerical, supportive and other related duties under the direction of the Supervisor. 12. Help offer our students an amazing Before/After school experience filled with games, laughter and positive interaction.
Terms Of Employment: 1. Positions are part time. 2. Hours will vary based on program. 3. Salary is $15. per hour
REPORTS TO: Program Supervisor and Director of Community Education
EVALUATION: Job performance will be evaluated by the program Supervisor
