The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy. The district reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Grade 3 Teacher

Location: Byam Elementary School

General Description: Teach students in academic, social and manipulative skills, working within assigned subject areas to provide optimum student services in accordance with the objectives established by the School Committee. Coordinate efforts with specialists assigned to provide additional specific services. Confer with parents to promote better understanding of the pupil and his/her environment. Assist and guide ancillary personnel. Attend meetings and prepare and maintain all related records and reports reflecting activities as required or directed. Perform other duties as directed or as responsibilities necessitate.

Byam Elementary School has a student population of roughly 425 students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Byam prides itself on educating the whole child and creating a caring and supportive environment for every student to learn. The staff is committed to providing high quality instruction with a solid understanding in pedagogy and developmentally appropriate practices. Students are held to high standards and are supported to achieve those standards by a host of talented educators and support staff. The staff is also steadfast in their professional growth and development in order to better serve the students and families of the Byam community.
