Applications will be accepted for Registered Behavior Technician positions in the Westfield Public School District for the 2023 Special Education Extended Year Program. This program is scheduled to begin July 5, 2023 and end July 28, 2023. The duration of the program is for four weeks, Monday –Thursday (no Friday dates).
Training Dates: July 3, 2023 (8:30 to 3:00 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch) Coordinator Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday Student Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday
Starting Date: February 13, 2023 Ending Date: July 28, 2023
FUNDING: Rate of Pay: $25.00 per hour with no benefits, not to exceed a total of 64 hours
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and all students 2.Help prepare for activities in the classroom 3.Familiarity with elementary interventions and Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support (PBIS) 4.Support small group work according to levels of language acquisition and cognitive development 5.Provide one-on-one assistance when needed 6.Walk students back and forth to designated areas for scheduled activities 7.Provide clarification in native language when requested by classroom teacher 8.Join students for breakfast and lunch 9.Assist with arrival and dismissal of students. 10.Assist in communication between student and teacher, when needed. 11.Attend field trips. 12.May be assigned to more than one classroom. 13.Perform any duties that may be assigned by the Administrator of Special Education.
This position subject to funding.

Qualifications:
<ul><li>High school diploma/Associates degree (preferred) or related course work.
<li>Demonstrated interest in children and education.
<li>Evidence of the emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
<li>Ability to communicate and work successfully with staff and students.</ul> |
