Job Description
This program is scheduled to begin July 5, 2023 and end July 28, 2023. The duration of the program is for four weeks, Monday –Thursday (no Friday dates).

Training Dates: July 3, 2023 (8:30 to 3:00 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch)
Teacher Hours Vary by Site:
Fort Meadow Staff Hours: 8:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Monday - Thursday
Fort Meadow Student Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
WIS Staff Hours: 8:45 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.
WIS Student Hours: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Starting Date: February 13, 2023
Ending Date: July 28, 2023

This program will held at the Fort Meadow Westfield Intermediate School.

REPORTS TO: SPED Extended Year Summer Program Coordinator and Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services.

Responsibilities:
  1. Make curriculum comprehensible using specialized instruction.
  2. Develop project based learning activities based on students’ academic and language proficiency levels that include literacy, mathematics, and science
  3. Supervise and instruct paraprofessionals in providing instructional support for all students
  4. Plan, coordinate, and attend field trips
  5. Work collaboratively with grade level teachers for weekly meetings
  6. Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of students
  7. Use assessment data to plan instruction
  8. Complete student progress reports
  9. Develop lesson plans and prepare instructional materials to provide individualized and small group
    instruction in order to adapt the curricula to the needs of each student and submit to Program Site Coordinator
  10. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Strive to develop positive relationships with students
  11. Implement the Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS) model
  12. Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students’ progress and interpret the summer program
  13. Supervise students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned work day
  14. Perform any duties that may be assigned by SPED Extended Year Summer Program Coordinator and/or Administrator of Special Education.
Rate of Pay: $36.00 per hour with no benefits, not to exceed a total of 87 hours

This position subject to funding.

Job Requirements
<b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b> Moderate Special Needs teaching license and classroom experience preferred. Classroom experience at appropriate grade level Prior related summer program experience preferred
