Chelmsford Public Schools - Announcement of Vacancy for Paraprofessional at CHIPS.
The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following anticipated vacancy for the 2022- 2023 academic year. The district reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.
Position: Preschool Paraprofessional - CHIPS
Description: Work with preschool children, to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Position involves working 1:1 with a student or with small groups of students.
QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Associate degree, two years of college or passing the paraprofessional test. Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities. Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records. Knowledge of special education procedures. Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the preschool. Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting. Support students physically, academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting Assist students with toileting and diapering as needed. Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers. Ability to collect data consistently. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
