Brattleboro Union High School is searching for a Classroom Paraeducator to
support laboratory science education as part of a team including eight
teachers. The ideal candidate will have experience with the safe management
and preparation of laboratory chemicals and equipment used in the variety of
physical and life science courses offered at BUHS. This position requires
strong organizational and communication skills, knowledge of chemical and
mechanical safety and laboratory preparation, and the ability to interact
positively with students and staff in accordance with the BUHS core values.
Duties include maintaining accurate electronic inventories of science supplies
and assets, participating in development of the science department budget,
managing chemical and material supplies, preparing laboratory materials, and
supporting in-class instruction as needed. Enthusiasm and a desire to work
within a dynamic, student-centered department are a must!
The position is Wage Grade 3 ($16.81 - $23.21 per hour depending on
experience), 7 hours per day, 199 days per year.
