Applications will be accepted for the position of the Special Education Extended Year Site Coordinator in the Westfield Public School District. This program is scheduled to begin July 5, 2023 and end July 28, 2023. The duration of the program is for four weeks, Monday –Thursday (no Friday dates).
Training Dates: July 3, 2023 (8:30 to 3:00 with a ½ hour unpaid lunch) Coordinator Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday Student Hours: 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Monday – Thursday Preparation Time: 20 hours Starting Date: February 13, 2023 Ending Date: July 28, 2023 POSITIONS: 1 COORDINATOR: Not to exceed 107 hours at $46.65 with no benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Oversee curriculum implementation and instruction. 2.Support the implementation of the special education instruction. 3.Supervise instructional staff. 4.Maintain student attendance records. 5.Manage the day to day operations of the summer school program. 6.Address any student disciplinary issues. 7.Support and supervise student volunteers. 8. Create teacher schedules. 9. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and attendance. 10. Coordinate enrollment and class placements. 11.Order Supplies. 12.Collect time cards. 13.Support both staff and students to create a positive learning climate and community. 14.Attend all training sessions prior to program start date. 15.Perform any duties that may be assigned by the Administrator of Special Education.
REPORTS TO:Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services.
This position subject to funding.

<b>QUALIFICATIONS:</b>
<ul><li>Certification as a Supervisor/Director of Special Education is preferred
<li>Planning, problem-solving, and strong interpersonal skills are a must
<li>Valid drivers license
<li>Ability to use special education and school data bases, basic word/excel skills
<li>Preference will be given to candidates possessing both previous Westfield Public School ESY program experience and supervisory experience of ESY programs</ul>
