Westfield Public Schools seeks positive, empathetic and encouraging applicants for the following part time position for the 2022-2023 school year. Responsibilities:
- Support at-risk intermediate school students to motivate and encourage them to improve academic achievement, behavior, effort, attitude, and school attendance..
- Support the social-emotional and developmental needs of students.
- Assist students with career plans and extra-curricular activities.
- Provide academic support in content areas to include reading, mathematics, and science as needed.
- Communicate with building principals regarding the mentor program.
- Address concerns of mentors or mentees.
- Collaborate with teachers to determine strategies to increase student achievement.
- Provide support within the classroom as needed.
Reports to: WIS Principal/Designee and Administrator of Student Interventions

Salary:
$30 to $30 Per Hour

<b><u>Qualifications:</u></b>
<ol><li>Bachelor's Degree, teaching, or guidance counseling certification preferred.
</li><li>Must be available during the school day (8:00am - 2:30pm) 10 hours per week maximum.
</li><li>Candidate should possess leadership abilities and a desire to enhance the district.
</li><li>Works well with adults and maintains confidentiality.</li></ol>
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield Public School evaluation and observations from the WIS Principal and Administrator of Student Interventions.
At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Bachelor degree preferred Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required |
