Position: Long Term ASD Special Education Substitute Teacher

Location: Byam Elementary School

Assignment Dates: December 1, 20222 through March 9, 2023. Dates are subject to change.

General Description: The successful candidate will assume the responsibilities of the autism spectrum disorder special education teacher by instructing, assessing and managing students programing.

Byam Elementary School has a student population of roughly 425 students from kindergarten through fourth grade. Byam prides itself on educating the whole child and creating a caring and supportive environment for every student to learn. Job Requirements
<li>Successful candidates will hold a Master’s degree in special education from an accredited college or university - MA DESE Teaching License-- PreK-8 Severe or Moderate Special Needs license is required - Strong knowledge of the Principals of ABA. - Experience working with students with Autism. - Experience working with the ACE Curriculum preferred. - Ability to consistently implement behavior support plans - Experience in modifying and adapting curriculum to assure students can access the curriculum. - Ability to effectively consult and work collaboratively with various service providers and support staff. - Solid organizational skills. - Experience with IEP development is required. - Solid understanding of the IEP process, state and federal regulations.
