Job Description
LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHING POSITION FOR TEACHER OUT ON LEAVE

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:
  1. Provide basic core program for those students assigned to this class consistent with state education code requirements.
  2. Work cooperatively with classroom teachers who have students integrated in their regular classes, interpreting the abilities and disabilities of these students to the entire staff, and assisting the student with regular assignments.
  3. Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.
  4. Encourage good citizenship.
  5. Work with individual students in providing educational experiences designed to help in the achievement of student's specific goals.
  6. Assist other professionals in resolving psychological, social, academic, and disciplinary problems of students.
  7. Assist in screening, evaluating, and recommending placement of students in the program.
  8. Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the school day.
  9. Provide appropriate direction for the facilitation of mainstreaming.
  10. Assist in the development and implementation of the individual educational plan.
  11. Collect data and assist in development of Individual Behavior Intervention Plans.
  12. Work with other staff on curriculum development and program innovation.
  13. Monitor student progress in and outside classroom.
  14. Maintain contact with parents of students.
  15. Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation; determine goals, objectives, and directions.
  16. Prepare report cards, education records, IEP forms, classroom observation records and other forms.
  17. Administer testing evaluation.
  18. Facilitate IEP meetings.
  19. Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Administrator of Special Education

This is a temporary assignment with limited benefits.

Job Requirements
