Job Description
Seeking applicants for the 2022-2023 school year at WIS.

  1. Provide leadership with the implementation of the new ELA curriculum
  2. Provide support in the progress, efficiency, and quality of curriculum implementation.
  3. Collaborate with the principal regarding teacher questions and/or concerns regarding program implementation.
  4. Facilitates monthly PLC meetings, and coordinates activities among grade level and/or department teachers; but not responsible for supervision and evaluation of teachers.
  5. Works with building principals and Director of Curriculum and Instruction to make specific recommendations regarding ELA program implementation.
  6. Meets monthly with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and ELA Supervisor.
  7. Attends meetings outside of the regular work day as required.
  8. Performs any other duties that may be assigned by the Principal or Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
  1. Bachelor’s Degree and grade level content certification required

    1. Must be available after the school day
    2. Part-time employment
    3. Stipend - $2,000 per school year

      REPORTS TO: School Principal and Director of Curriculum and Instruction

      Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield School Committee’s policy on evaluation.

The middle school provides a balanced program to meet the physical, social, emotional, and academic needs of our students. As a student, you will be encouraged to be independent and self-directed. To help you become familiar with your school, we have developed this student & parent handbook. It contains procedures, attendance, and discipline policies that are used. Read this handbook carefully so you will know what is expected of you. It is one of your responsibilities. If you have any questions about the contents, please ask one of your teachers or guidance counselors. It is important for families to know what goes on at the middle school. We encourage a firm avenue of communication between school and home. We invite you to become involved in your child's education. You may want to join the Parent-Teacher Advisory Committee or run for a seat on our School Council. You may wish to help out with a school activity or volunteer in the school library. Your involvement in any way is important to your child's education. Parents/guardians are always welcome at the intermediate school. We need your support. Job Requirements
<b>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is generally conducted within school building. Ability to travel throughout the school building is necessary. Position involves sitting and the ability to travel from one place to another within the classroom. Work is light in nature with regular lifting of up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds with some pulling and pushing or reaching above, generally of desk and file drawers. Frequent use of hands to operate keyboards and telephones and other office equipment. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job.</b>
