Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:
  1. Assumes responsibilities in teaching pupils utilizing a course of study adopted by the Westfield Public Schools and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines in teaching individual course content.
  2. Assumes responsibilities in instructing pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in stat law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
  3. Consults, as appropriate, with the principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the lesson plans.
  4. Maintains records , as appropriate, including checking test papers, recording grades, student assignments for homework, projects and the necessary clerical work required to maintain student records for a teacher who is absent.
  5. Provides for individualized and small group assistance for students as indicated by lesson plans.
  6. Any other job duties as assigned by the building principal and/or the Superintendent of Schools.

Welcome to Paper Mill Elementary School. Our school is one of the newest and largest elementary schools in the city, educating more than 330 students in grades K-4. Nestled among playing fields and residential neighborhoods, we are adjacent to the park on Papermill Road in the northeast corner of the city.
