FPS is currently working with DESE’s Statewide System of Support to plan and implement turnaround strategies at four of its schools.

The STEAM Teacher is responsible for delivering a high-quality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district.

Essential duties for all faculty members include classroom instruction; conferences with students, parents, and colleagues; active participation in the work of the department on curriculum development, activities, and pedagogy.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary license in the specific subject area(s).
  • SEI Endorsement.
  • Strong district lens, curriculum, and equity.
  • Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively with teachers, support staff, and parents and advocate for children in order to effectively problem solve.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and ability to work with all stakeholders.

    As a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) teacher we hope that you feel excited about engaging students in hands-on, design solutions-oriented learning. You will be expected to plan and deliver instruction aligned with standards and best practices in STEAM education. You will also collaborate with other professionals to strengthen their curriculum.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities
    The Teacher will:
  • Develop and deliver rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math.
  • Implement formative and summative assessments to track student progress; engage students in the assessment and tracking process.
  • Analyze data on student performance to effectively inform instruction.
  • Provide differentiated support including accommodations and modifications to ensure all students are able to meet and exceed standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development including peer observations.
  • Implement school-wide positive behavioral systems to effectively manage the classroom.
  • Continually communicate with students’ families regarding performance and progress.
