The Chelmsford Public Schools is now accepting applications for the following vacancy. The District reserves the right to change this vacancy or not fill this vacancy based on further staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

Position: Adaptive Physical Education Teacher (.8 FTE)

Location:Byam Elementary School and Center Elementary School

Description: The Chelmsford Public Schools is seeing an Adapted Physical Education Teacher. Teacher will work with K-4 students at the Byam and Center Elementary Schools in one-on-one and small group settings. As the adapted physical education teacher, you provide a specialized treatment plan as part of the student's individualized education program (IEP). The plan includes assessment for the student's gross motor skills, ongoing physical instruction, routine evaluation of progress, and modification activities as needed.

Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree with at least 36 semester hours in the teaching area required * Degree (Major) in the teaching area, or a related field, preferred * The ability to demonstrate superior knowledge of this field, effective pedagogical skills, excellent communication skills, an enthusiasm for learning, and the desire to maximize the learning potential of all children, required * Experience with diverse populations, specifically, with Adapted Physical Education students, preferred * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable * Candidate must possess an appropriate MA state teacher licensure.
