DATE: June 22, 2022 TITLE: Special Education - Behavior Technician SALARY:$16.48/hour per AFSCME contract (probation rate) ($19.99/hour following probation period) DUTIES:
Position Description 1.Behavior Technicians are responsible for implementing programming for students who are included in the general education setting for all or most of their day as part of the District’s Behavior Support Program. 2.Behavior Technicians use the core principles of Applied Behavior Analysis including reinforcement procedures and analysis of data while also using components of the Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach. 3.Behavior Technicians use a variety of self-regulation tools and social skills training techniques. 4.10 Month Position
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1.Implement educational programming and accommodations as prescribed in IEP 2.Assists in implementation of testing accommodations. 3.Follow a behavior plan and accurately collect data on target behaviors 4.Use tools to help students learn/apply evidence-based self-regulation strategies (i.e. 5 point scale, social stories) 5.Manage materials, data, and programs for assigned students 6.Use evidence-based practice to teach social skills/facilitate social interactions (i.e. Social Thinking/Social Detectives) 7.Utilize and implement visuals to assist students in daily routines 8.Assists with completion of agendas, logs and data sheets under direction and supervision of supervising teacher(s). 9.Required to attend weekly clinical meetings outside of school day. 10.Assist classroom teacher with whole class behavior interventions as well as individual interventions for assigned students 11.Assist Behavior Specialist/BCBA as needed. 12.Assumes responsibilities as might be assigned by the BCBA, Behavior Specialist, School Principal, Assistant Superintendent Student Services and/or the Superintendent of Schools. 13.Must successfully complete SafteyCare Training 14.Must successfully complete CPR/First Aid Training 15.Responsible for supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills (i.e. walking, feeding, toileting, and/or transferring), as needed.

Qualifications:
1.High school diploma (BA preferred)
2.Ability to successfully complete all portions of the SafetyCare Training curriculum
3.Ability to follow oral and written directions
4.Ability to work cooperatively and congenially with others
5.Ability to work and manage time in a fast-paced work environment
6.Effective oral and written communication skills
7.Effective organizational skills
8.Proficient in the use of technology
9.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
10.Minimum of 6 months experience working with individuals with High-Functioning Autism and/or social/emotional/behavioral
disabilities and/or mental health diagnoses
11.6 months experience utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, social thinking strategies, or Applied Behavior Analysis strongly preferred
