DATE: June 17, 2021 SUBJECT: ELA Curriculum Review Team Coordinators - one position at each school: High School, Memorial School, DiPietro Elementary, Stall Brook Elementary SALARY: $500 Stipend for the 2022-2023 school year, subject to grant funding FUNCTION: Ensure that the district has a clearly articulated ELA curriculum that is well-coordinated through K-12.
Provide for an ongoing review and revision of curriculum
Support the ongoing use of assessment data to inform and improve curriculum and instructional practices
Ensure that the revisions and updates to curriculum, instruction and assessment take place to maintain adherence to changes in state and federal mandates as well as MA Curriculum Frameworks
Evaluate potential needs for curricular or programmatic changes to support student learning
Ensure that all subject areas will receive priority for updating and revision of curriculum, professional development and purchase of needed textbooks/materials over a five-year period
Provide for ongoing participation of teachers and staff members on the Pre K-12 vertical curriculum teams
Promote continuous development and improvement in the areas of curriculum, instruction and assessment, and raise student achievement
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assist in writing of ELA self-study 2. Monthly meetings with Assistant Superintendent 3. Organize and facilitate building level ELA Curriculum Review Team meetings 4. Writing the self-study document 5. Developing a proposed action plan in response to the self-study report 6. Recruit ELA Curriculum Review Team Members
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current member of the Bellingham Public Schools Literacy Staff
