TITLE: Summer 7D Bus Driver (up to 35 Hours/Week)
SCHEDULE: July 5, 2022 - August 19, 2022

FUNCTION:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Knowledge of applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations related to pupil transportation. Knowledge of streets and roads within District boundaries and trip destinations. Knowledge of school operation and ability to relate effectively to students, staff, and parents. Ability to communicate specifically with drivers and dispatch via two-way radio regarding routes, emergencies, and student issues. Ability to communicate in a professional manner both orally and in writing. Ability to work as part of a team and continue learning. Ability to work efficiently and effectively with staff and the public. Ability to handle confidential matters in an ethical manner. Ability to work with and respect a multicultural population is a must.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as an illustration of the various types of work that may be performed, include the following:
1.Safely and courteously transports students and other staff members as assigned. Engages with students as appropriate to p
provide a safe and welcoming environment during their transportation. Most runs are early morning and late afternoon.
2.Drivers provide safe transportation of students to and from the educational setting, based on assigned or covering routes; assist
students to safely enter and exit the vehicle as needed; operate vehicle in accordance with all Federal and State traffic
regulations; complete all required documentation and record keeping as required; perform regular vehicle safety checks.
3.Practice ethical and professional standards of conduct, including the requirements of confidentiality regarding student and
personal information.
4.Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality and have consistent, reliable attendance.
5.Comply with all district policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
1.Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and provide proof upon hire.
2.Patience, reliability, and an interest in working with students with social/ emotional /behavioral issues.
3.Drivers must be able to communicate effectively and clearly with parents and school and Transportation Department staff.
4.Drivers will also be part of a random screening pool for alcohol and other drugs.
5.All candidates who are offered employment will be subject to screening through the following agencies: CORI, SORI, and
SAFIS (Fingerprinting).

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

1.Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
2.Requires the ability to communicate effectively.
3.Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulation.
4.Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
5.Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weight objects, up to 50 pounds.
6.Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and
exposure to dust, fumes and gases.

Salary: $26.48 to $26.48 Per Hour
