FPS is currently working with DESE’s Statewide System of Support to plan and implement turnaround strategies at four of its schools.

The Anticipated Title I Interventionists are responsible for delivering a high-quality instructional experience consistent with the curriculum standards of the school district.

Essential duties for all faculty members include classroom instruction; conferences with students, parents, and colleagues; active participation in the work of the department on curriculum development, activities, and pedagogy.

  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education teacher.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university licensure in the grade and/or subject area to which you will be assigned (by Principal).
  • SEI endorsement required.
  • Reading certification preferred.
  • Experience in reading, writing, and/or math programs and/or interventions currently in use in FPS.
  • Special Ed certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of MA DESE Frameworks/CC and FPS curriculum documents.
  • Experience in response to intervention/instruction, inclusion, differentiated instruction, flexible grouping.
  • Demonstrated competencies in IT, digital media, digital communication tools and skills, and document creation, including but not limited to X2/Aspen, parent portal, Excel, websites, blogs, etc.
  • Demonstrated competencies in assessment, data analysis, and reporting using digital curriculum and/or assessment products, dashboards, and aligned intervention planning/services delivery.

  • Responsible for assessment, pre, and post-testing, data analysis, and Title I reporting.
  • Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction.
  • Meets and instructs assigned students in the locations and at the time designated.
  • Responsible for effective instruction which includes making learning goals clear to the students, using appropriate instructional and questioning techniques.
  • Responsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student engagement, achievement, and confidence to learn.
  • Guides the learning process toward the achievement of grade-level curriculum standards and establishes clear objectives which reflect these standards for all lessons, units, and projects.
  • Implements the district's mission, philosophy of education, and instructional standards and objectives.
  • Documents the learning problems of students and seeks the assistance of district specialists as required.
  • Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by federal Title I regulations, district policy, and administrative regulation.
  • Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct and, for the classroom, develops pro-active and engaging rules of classroom behavior and procedure, maintaining order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
  • Strives to maintain and improve professional competence especially as relates to the specific assignment and student grade and subject area appropriateness.
  • Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of assigned students.
  • Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning, including, for implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, 504 plans and\or second language learners.
