• The classroom assistant supports students within and outside of the general education classroom according to their IEP's.
• Helps to implement the goals, modifications and benchmarks established by the special education liaison within the building.
• Works with the classroom teacher and assist in the classroom as the teacher deems appropriate. This may include small group instruction, giving frequent breaks, making modifications for students and working with diverse learning styles.
• Working with special needs population.
• Will implement current IEP plans and data collection using the ACE data system.
• Working with all grade level colleagues along with the classroom teacher and special education liaisons.
• Experience working with children with behavioral challenges.
• Other related duties as assigned

DEGREE PREFERRED:
•Bachelor’s degree is preferred
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
• Three (3) plus years in a school setting or working with children.
• Experience working with children on IEP's.
• Experience working with ABA method
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• 6 Week Summer Component
• Safety Care Training preferred – (if not trained previously, hired candidate will be trained by WPS)
