DATE: May 16, 2022 TITLE: District Equity Team Chair (2 positions) SALARY: $2000 Stipend for the 2022-2023 School Year, subject to grant funding FUNCTION: Ensure that the district has a clearly articulated plan for building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment for all students, staff and faculty.
Develop a 3-year District Equity Plan and then continuously monitor that plan
The District Equity Team shall include:
Superintendent/Assistant Superintendent and/or Central Office Staff
Building Principals/Assistant Principals
School-based Staff
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Represents the Bellingham School Community's interests throughout the process
Coordinates meetings and assumes the primary role of writing the 3-year District Equity Plan
Advise, provide input, and help prioritize the district-wide equity process
Become familiar with tools for evaluating curricular materials for stereotypes and bias, and be willing to support colleagues in the process as well
Willingness to complete work in between the meeting dates as described above
COMMITMENT:
Attend monthly/bi-monthly Equity Team meetings (TBD by the team) - may include a combination of professional development days and after-school times.
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Must be a current member of the Bellingham Public Schools staff 2. Must have attended a workshop/course with ADL, Gender Spectrum, Kate Kelly or Kalise Wornum APPLICATION PROCEDURES: 1.
