Job Description

Day Shift & Evening shifts

High school diploma (minimum).
Previous custodial experience or equivalent.
Good occupational health; physical exam may be required (Continuous walking, standing and bending are required. Moderate and greater physical effort is required for manual and mechanical tasks).
Variety of abilities-mechanical, electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.
Ability to read, write, keep records and make reports.
Ability to work independently and fully complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Familiarity with the principles of heating, ventilation and sanitation.
Knowledge of the correct use of mechanical equipment.
Knowledge and skill in the use of hand and power tools, custodial materials, cleaning agents, and job techniques.
Reports To:
Coordinator of Facilities

Job Goals:
Keep the buildings functional and grounds clean to ensure that all aspects of the indoor and outdoor facilities are safe and welcoming and comfortable for students, staff and public.

Keeps buildings and grounds clean and orderly.
Sweeps, scrubs, finishes floors.
Dusts, cleans, and polishes furniture, woodwork and other surfaces.
Empties and cleans waste receptacles.
Cleans and disinfects toilets and sanitary facilities.
Washes windows, walls, blinds, metal work, etc.
Maintains equipment and materials.
Moves, arranges and adjusts furniture and equipment.
Painting and general repairs.
Maintains electrical service and replaces light bulbs/fixtures.
Shovels snow.
Maintenance work including painting, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical as required.
Other duties as assigned.

Terms of Employment:
Full time or part-time, daily as needed

Salary: Up to $13.50 Per Hour

Job Requirements
Successful completion of SAFIS and CORI requirements.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred
  • High School/Trade School degree preferred
  • Citizenship, residency or work VISA in United States required
