Afterschool Assistant Program Coordinator
SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
WEST SOMERVILLE NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOL

Job Goal: The Assistant Program Coordinator will be responsible for the records, registration, and management of students in Afterschool and El Sistema Somerville programs of the Somerville Public Schools Community Schools program.

Responsibilities:
1.Overall program duties will include maintenance of registration, behavior, and tuition records.
•Facilitate the financial assistance and subsidized applications.
•Recording attendance including check-in and check-out and monitoring the entranceand exit of visitors to the program.
•Collect attendance and SAYO data for El Sistema students in accordance to the 21st Century Community Learning grant requirements
•Communicate with the Director of El Sistema Somerville regarding the tuition, attendance, and behavioral records of El Sistema Somerville students on a weekly basis.
•Assist in the coordination and communication of events and schedules to parents, students, school personnel, and community members.
•Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s Degree relevant to a community school program preferred; and have a minimum of six months’ experience in teaching and/or administration in the field of community school education or related field
•Administrative experience required
•Written and spoken Spanish language skills highly preferred
•Excellent administrative, keyboarding, and organizational skills
•Good intrapersonal skills and ability to work as a team
•Interest in facilitating a positive and safe learning environment for students
•Attention to detail and precision in work habits

Terms of Employment:
•Monday – Friday 11:00 to 6:00 pm / 35 hours per week

Position Reports to: Director and Assistant Director of Community Education
