Resources, Data, and Communication Coordinator
Somerville Family Learning Collaborative (SFLC)

Job Goal: The Somerville Family Learning Collaborative (SFLC) Resources, Data, and Communication Coordinator is responsible for working collaboratively with the SFLC Director, SFLC Team and Somerville schools to develop family engagement systems and activities that create strong supports for teaching, learning, and school achievement.

The Resources, Data, and Communication Coordinator builds systems of information, resource and referral, assesses and develops data systems to identify needs and track impact and outcomes of SFLC family engagement programming and provides support to SFLC and the District to improve communication among staff and parents.

•Fluency in home language and English
•Master Degree in Education or related field strongly preferred
•Professional experience working in diverse communities with multiple stakeholders
•Excellent interpersonal skills
•Demonstrates excellent organizational and coordination skills with attention to detail
•Excellent and written and verbal communications skills
•Effective in managing timelines
•Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully
•Energetic and personable; takes initiative and thinks creatively
•Strong computer skills in Microsoft, Publisher, design/ layout software, and Google Suite
•Experience with data tools, analysis, and reporting
•Experience in developing and leading workshops and trainings (or willingness to learn)
•Ability to work flexible hours including before school, evenings and weekends
•Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team

Highly Preferred:

•Update and maintain multilingual, cross-sector community resource lists to provide the most comprehensive and timely information to support families
•Develop and implement coordinated systems for SFLC and district staff to access community resources that support students and families
•Assist SFLC staff and parent groups in the development of events and activities based on topics relevant to schools and student learning
•Provide support, training, resources, for SFLC staff in the development of family engagement activities, programs and events at district schools
•Coordinate professional development for SFLC staff and community members as needed
•Assist in the development of SFLC outreach and professional development materials (print and web-based)
•Create protocols for periodic data collection and assist with the writing and presentation of data results including needs assessment, tracking participation, surveys, and related program output and outcomes to inform the development and improvement of SFLC programs.
•Engage with SFLC staff to assess data needs and conduct evaluation of best practices and outcomes in outreach, family engagement as well as impact on student learning
•Design, modify and oversee administration of data collection instruments such as surveys and questionnaires
•Develop data systems such as activity logs and participant surveys to track family and community needs and impact of programming and services in order to adapt to families’ changing needs and provide best practices to share across the district
•Assist SFLC Staff in gathering and analyzing SFLC program evaluation, participation, and attendance and work in collaboration with District’s evaluation team to enable systemic family engagement and school improvement strategies

Understand, support, and promote the SFLC mission and values
Update and maintain SFLC website and information platforms
Manage social media platforms and other dissemination tools to ensure equitable access to all families
Create and produce publications, monthly newsletters and annual report
Assist in the development of effective, inclusive home-school communication systems and practices about student learning and well-being
Coordinate targeted outreach efforts to families, SPS staff, and community members to promote district-wide SFLC events and SFLC and SPS programming
Participate in district, state and community-based meetings, workshops and committees for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions and remain knowledgeable with family engagement topics
Maintain a master schedule of SFLC, District and School-Based programs and events
Provide resources and referrals for information and support services as needed
Liaison with Parent and Community organizations such as PTA, MLE PAC, SSEPAC, Padres Latinos, etc.
Other duties as required

Terms of Employment:
•40 work hours per week; (typically 8 – 4:30) with flexible schedule that includes attendance at evening and weekend events
•Full Year – 260 days
