ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY FOR THE
2021-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

District ILT Administrator
SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Job Goal: Develop coherent systems and structures that support a clear, common vision of effective instruction and student support in the Somerville Public Schools. Develop a common understanding of how district initiatives lead to positive and equitable student outcomes. Support continuous learning and improvement across the district.

Qualifications
•Current SEU unit member
•Serve on their School ILT;
•Effective communication and interpersonal skills with teachers and leaders;
•Capacity to build trust and ownership among educators;
•Ability to gather multiple types of evidence and data to inform work;
•Action-oriented and able to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently;
•Educators serving with Professional Status in the Somerville Public Schools is preferred;
•Must be a licensed educator by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

Responsibilities:
•Work with district administration and other team members to recommend and help inform district improvement needs, goals, and priorities with a focus on instruction
•Work together to identify and implement a district-wide instructional focus and to monitor progress on the plan
•Participate in District ILT meetings
•Share effective solutions and strategies across the district
•Coordinate educator leaders across the district working toward the same or similar goals
•Learn about the continuous improvement process through engaging in continuous improvement data cycles with root cause analysis by collaboratively reviewing and analyzing district data (student achievement data, student discipline data, attendance data, survey data, etc.)
•Collect school-specific data to share with the District ILT
•Work closely with the school principal and other ILT members to support the district goals and identified areas of priority
•Share effective solutions and strategies across the district
•Coordinate educator leaders across the district working toward the same or similar goals
•Engage in purposeful collaboration and two-way communication structure for policies, priority decisions, changes, etc. (School ILTs, Principals, Cabinet)

Terms of Employment:
•Yearly Appointment (September – June)
•Out of school/work hours
•Stipend: $750

Position Reports to: The School Principal and/or designee
