Job Description
We are seeking an experienced special education teacher to provide support for students with or without disabilities at the Boutwell and Wildwood Early Childhood Centers. The special education teacher will be responsible to service students in grades preschool and kindergarten who consistently display behavioral and/or emotional/social challenges in the classroom setting.

•Demonstrates a strong knowledge of program design, curriculum and instruction, and behavior management
•Plan effective instructional strategies for adapting or modifying the general curriculum to meet the various needs of individual students
•Create and implement individual, small group, and large group lessons to support the district curriculum
•Conduct assessments/evaluations of student abilities and needs and serves as a member of IEP meetings
•Collect and analyze student performance data to determine the extent to which student IEP goals and objectives are being met
•Assist students with both academic and social/emotional goals as stated in Individualized Education Plans
•Assist, support and work in collaboration with school psychologist, district BCBA, administration, and all other related service providers in the development, implementation and revision of student behavior plans
•Implement Behavioral and Functional Assessments for students
•Instruct and direct assigned educational assistant(s) to maximize delivery of instructional services, behavior management and data collection techniques
•Act as a liaison between home and school
•Excellent interpersonal skills to consult effectively with educational assistants, teachers, administration, and parents.
•Maintain integrity of confidential information regarding students
•Provide consultation and assistance to general education staff to support students in the least restrictive environment
•Other duties as assigned by Principal

Job Requirements
DEGREE PREFERRED: Master’s degree preferred EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: •Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with students identified with social, emotional and behavior disabilities in a therapeutic setting •Knowledge of research based practices for providing therapeutically based interventions for students who need support with emotional regulation •Experience writing Individualized Education Plans and progress reports •Safety Care Certification •Responsive Classroom Training •SEI Endorsement ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: •Extended year component in accordance with the students' Individualized Education Plans* •MA DESE License: Moderate Disabilities PreK-8
