Job Description
POSITION TITLE: NECC Intensive Instruction (Full time Para II)


•Assist the NECC Lead Teacher with the classroom supervision of one to two students at a time in a classroom with up to 7 students. This position will require the paraprofessional to work with different students within the classroom.
•Support special needs student in the areas of academics, behavior management, self-help skills, social skills, etc.
•Manage organization, supervision, and daily tasks of student as dictated by the NECC Lead Teacher.
•Must be the kind of person who is warm, caring, respectful, and has a strong desire to work with
children, as well as has a willingness to learn.
Daily Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
•Ensures the safety of all students
•Provides direct educational services for the duration of the school day.
•Creates opportunities for generalization and maintenance of skills.
•Collects data on targeted skills and enters data into the electronic database (ACE)
•Communicates with parents of case student via home communication log.
•Relays parent information to Lead Teacher, NECC Clinical Supervisor, and/or Administrator.
•Maintains student records in neat and orderly manner.
•Maintains student specific materials.
•Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, NECC Clinical Supervisor or Administrator.
•Communicates any student-specific concerns to Lead Teacher
•Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality that is expected of a fully certified teacher.
Weekly responsibilities include but not limited to:
•Graphs/ Sums student data
•Participates in program meetings/ trainings.
•Requests meetings with Lead Teacher, NECC Clinical Supervisor or Administrator.
•Modifies curriculum and/or curriculum materials as needed.
•Conducts weekly parent training sessions in student’s home
•Para II Certified or eligible for certification
•To implement an intensive skill-based program that is grounded in the principles of applied behavior analysis. This work is performed under the direct supervision of a Master’s level Lead Teacher and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst.
Reports to: Principal, Lead Teacher, NECC Clinical Supervisor
Classroom support experience and/or experience working with individuals with disabilities.

SALARY RANGE: As per Newport Support Staff Agreement
