ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES FOR 2021 SUMMER OF YES PROGRAM

GROUP LEADER

Looking for a fun summer job supporting youth in a hands on, project based STEAM curriculum? Look no further! The Summer of Yes is an innovative collaboration with several Somerville youth programs, including Parts and Crafts, Somerville Media Center, Parkour Generations Boston, Farrington Nature Linc, Somerville Arts for Youth, and DEILab. We are hoping to hire young adults age 18-22 to help staff our innovative program and make sure kids are safe, happy, and engaged. You will be responsible for set up and break down of camp activities, leading short group games during transition times, supervising lunch and snack, and serving as a support staff to community partner programs. You’ll also have the opportunity to lead your own activities based on your interest and skills.

Requirements:
?High school degree or GED required
?Must be able to lift 50 lbs
?Must be available during the weeks of July 6-August 6th
?Willingness to learn and jump in enthusiastically to all programs
?Excited to serve as a role model for youth
?Spanish or Portuguese language proficiency preferred
?Previous youth work experience preferred
?Somerville resident preferred
?Must pass CORI/SORI and fingerprinting check
?Must participate in First Aid/CPR training and program onboarding

Pay: $20/hr, 27.5 hrs/week
Reports to: OST Director, Heather McCormack

Shift 1: 8AM-1:30PM M-F
Shift 2: 1PM-6:00PM M-F
