ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY FOR THE
2021 SUMMER SPELL PROGRAMS

SUMMER INTERNSHIP
SUMMER PARTNERS FOR LANGUAGE AND LEARNING (SPELL)
ALBERT F. ARGENZIANO SCHOOL

Program Goal: Summer Partners for Language and Learning (SPELL) provides Multilingual Learners theme-based language development activities in the morning and enrichment experiences provided by community partners in the afternoon. SPELL Elementary / Middle School is located at A. F. Argenziano School. High School SPELL is located at Somerville High School and offers language development activities and academic content support.

SPELL runs from July 6 – August 6th. SPELL Internship Opportunities are offered to College and Graduate Students interested in supporting Multilingual Learners in academic and enrichment activities.

SPELL Intern:
Preferred Qualifications:

•Experience working with children and/or youth in group settings
•Ability to provide academic and enrichment support in tutoring groups or one on one
•Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students; maintain and respond to social and emotional needs of students with guidance from educators and site administrator(s)
•Knowledge and appreciation of cultural difference; commitment to removing barriers to equity, access, and inclusion
•Bilingual/multilingual and ability to communicate with diverse students and families

Terms of Employment:
Hours on site: varies
Stipend: $1800 - $2500 depending on schedule and level of education

Reports to: District Administrator of Programs or Designee

Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
