2021 SUMMER SPELL HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMS

PARAPROFESSIONALS
SUMMER PARTNERS FOR LANGUAGE AND LEARNING (SPELL)
SOMERVILLE HIGH SCHOOL

Program Goal: Summer Partners for Language and Learning (SPELL) provides Multilingual Learners language development activities and academic content support.

High School SPELL Paras will work 8:00 – 12:00 noon, July 6 – August 6th. A mandatory Professional Development and classroom set up day will be scheduled during the last week of June.

SPELL High School Paraprofessional:
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience in Multilingual Learner classrooms
•Ability to collaborate with teachers in the delivery of theme-based, language and content integrated curriculum aligned to WIDA framework
•Ability to support student learning in small groups and one on one
•Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students.
•Bilingual/multilingual and ability to communicate with diverse students and families.

Terms of Employment:
Monday-Friday 8:00 - noon
Start Date: July 6, 2021
End Date: August 6, 2021
Stipend:$2200

Reports to: District Administrator of Programs or Designee

Disclosure: All positions listed are subject to funding availability and student enrollment; courses may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment.
