ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY FOR THE
2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

Special Education Homebound Tutors
SOMERVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS

Job Goal: Homebound tutors work with students to provide academic support and are expected to coordinate learning and track the progress of students under the guidance of the Director of Special Education or designee.

Responsibilities:
•Support the online academic program for the students based on their Individualized Education Programs.
•Establish a consistent line of communication with students to support their progress through their online academic program utilizing the online learning platform and through telephone support as needed.
•Provide ongoing monitoring and support for students as they progress through courses, including regular face-to-face sessions during school hours on a schedule, established by the Director of Special Education or designee, during the school year.
•Work with staff to assist with students’ motivation and progress toward academic goals.

Terms of Employment:
•School Year Schedule thru June 2021
•$27/hour
•Up to a Maximum of 18.75 hours per week

Position Reports to: School Principal and the Director of Special Education or designee
