Job Description
• To perform duties as an instructional assistant to the teacher • To assist the teacher in the review and reinforcement of instructional lessons/activities • To act as an individual tutor to the student. This tutoring is to be done under the direct supervision of the teacher. • To comply with other duties as may be assigned by the teacher, the Director of Student Support, Coordinator of Special Education and/or the Building Principal/Administrators as appropriate.

Job Requirements
DEGREE PREFERRED: •Associate’s Degree EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: •Specific training course geared to the preparation of instructional assistants in the area of Special Education with some practical experience in working with special needs children •Successful completion of a college level course dealing with an overall survey of the nature and needs of special needs children •Safety Care Training Minimum qualification required: Experience working with school age children ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: •Safety Care Training preferred – (if not trained previously, hired candidate will be trained by WPS)
