Elementary English Language Learners Summer Program

Program Goal: Summer Programs for English Language Learners provide opportunities for English Learner Students at WIDA Levels 1 – 3 to practice and develop English skills, receive support in academic subjects, and explore the community. The SPELL Parent Program provides English, Basic Computer Skills and Workshops for parents and guardians of English Learners.

Assistant Director, SPELL Elementary:
Assist the Director of SPELL with the daily functions of the Elementary Summer School Program and ensure that students are engaged and learning.

Preferred Qualifications:
• ESL/ELL License
• Experience facilitating multi-dimensional program(s) (student safety, program planning, supervision of staff, interns, and volunteers, managing supplies, etc.)
• Experience teaching in SPELL or similar Academic/Language Enrichment Program
• Experience in curriculum development and in planning and providing professional development to staff
• Ability to maintain a safe and healthy environment for students
• Bilingual/multilingual and ability to communicate with diverse students and families
• Ability to lead SPELL Curriculum Development and WIDA/ELL Professional Development

Reports to: District Coordinator of Summer Programs or Director of the SPELL Summer Program
