Job Description
The primary responsibility of a substitute teacher is to execute class and lessons according to an absent teacher's written teaching plan. Assignment may vary from day to day. The substitute teacher ensures that the method of instruction and classroom management are in adherence to the school's policies and goals; creates a positive classroom environment; alters teaching to suit students of different learning styles, monitors student progress, and motivates students; reports to supervisor problematic student behaviors and student safety-threatening occurrences such as accidents and illnesses; with parents regarding student study or behavioral concerns; confidentiality of student- or school-related information.

Job Requirements
minimum of 2 years of college credits and clear Criminal Offender Record Information, ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff, effective listening skills and the ability to understand and implement verbal and written instructions accurately Effective organizational abilities and time management are important for the job. Spanish speaker preferred.
