Afterschool Snack Program Coordinator

Guidelines: The Afterschool Snack Program Coordinator is responsible for the distribution and service of nutritious snacks to high school students.

• High School diploma
• Knowledge of Food Safety preferred

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Department of Food and Nutrition Services, assists by the program by:

• Picking up snacks from the Somerville High School kitchen
• Serving snacks to students
• Tallying the total amount of snacks distributed to students each day
• At the end of the month provide the SHS kitchen with the snack menu containing the total number of snacks distributed
• Able to organize, manage, coordinate, implement and oversee snack program
• Able to maintain records
• Prepare clear, concise and comprehensive reports
• Excise sound and independent judgement within general policy guidelines
• Establish and maintain working relationships with other staff

Terms of Employment:
$17.00 Per Hour / Up to 10 hours per week

Position Reports to: Principal of Somerville High School and Director of Food and Nutrition Services

The Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director are responsible for making sure school breakfast, lunch and snack programs are compliant with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and offer the best nutrition in the most appealing way to the more than 3,000 students and staff who eat breakfast and lunch in the Somerville Public Schools every day.
