East Somerville Community Schools Coordinator of After School Programs
EAST SOMERVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Job Goal: The school-based East Somerville Community School Coordinator of After School Programs will ensure close coordination of all after school programs at East Somerville Community School. The Coordinator will work closely with school administration and program directors and coordinators of Community Schools, El Sistema, Citizen Schools, clubs and tutoring to facilitate a safe and enriching series of programs that will provide extended learning opportunities for students at East Somerville Community School.
This position is a stipend position for an ESCS Community School Teacher.
Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with building administrators, coordinate the planning of afterschool and Saturday programs to meet the academic and enrichment needs of the ESCS students, with an emphasis on supporting the needs of English language learners;
• With administrators, plan for program offerings, facility use, outreach, and development of common administrative reporting practices;
• Assist in development of a comprehensive program communication plan to ESCS families;
• Develop and oversee implementation of a common attendance reporting system for all after school programs;
• Oversee implementation of common safety protocols, in consultation and collaboration with District Student Support administrators, program coordinators, and school administrators;
• Visit programs regularly to monitor program quality and enrollment and to assist program staff with any student support of family communication needs that arise;
• Provide support for afterschool programs and serve as a liaison to needed school and district resources to address full range of program needs;
• Serve as liaison between school administrators and program directors regarding building security and emergency procedures, including field trip protocols;
• Serve as liaison between district leaders and program directors regarding resources needed for effective program delivery, including space and technology needs;
• Make recommendations for any possible joint professional development for after school program staff;
• Lead development of a comprehensive, annual, program evaluation, in consultation with school administrators.

Requirements:
• School year job requirements including planning and coordination time during out of school hours.
• Available for consultation from 2:45-5:30 daily; 3 days a week (days of week to be determined in consultation with principal) Coordinator will remain on site during program hours.

Qualifications:
• Current Somerville staff with at least five years teaching experience
• Summer or after school program leadership experience desired
Spanish language fluency preferred
Stipend: $9,000
Position Reports to: School Principal, and other district staff as designated
