Job Description
ANNOUNCEMENT OF AVACANCY FOR THE
2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Job Goal:
To provide psychological evaluations with and without projectives as well as provide recommendations for services during special education team meetings that will facilitate learning and promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students.

Responsibilities:
• Selects and administers age appropriate assessment methods and material in order to determine the needs of the student, including projective testing
• Consults with teachers and other personnel to obtain information regarding the reason for referral
• Interprets assessment results and compiles comprehensive psychological assessment reports that address the reason for referral and include appropriate recommendations
• Serve as a team member of a student's special education team, and use assessment data about the student and his/her environment to make valid recommendations to appropriate interventions and placements
• Contributes to the development of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) when the student is found eligible for special education services
• Maintains an awareness of new developments and research in the field of school psychology and provides inservice training and workshops for teachers and staff regarding mental health issues and how disabilities affect student performance and progress
• Provides follow-up support and re-evaluation services as necessary.
• Assists with other assignments that Special Education administration may request
• Maintains adequate and current testing materials required by school psychologists
• Maintains a log of students tested and team meetings attended

Qualifications:
• MA Certification as a school psychologist
• The position may require travel to out of district placements
• Applicants who are fluent in other languages preferred
