2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

SFLC Program Specialist
SOMERVILLE FAMILY LEARNING COLLABORATIVE (SFLC)

Job Goal: The Somerville Family Learning Center houses an integrated service model including the Prenatal - Early Childhood Services, Student Enrollment, Family Engagement Linked to Learning, and Wrap-around Services and Community Partnerships. The SFLC works to develop and deliver comprehensive and research-based programs that support children & families on a path toward school success.

The Program Specialist assists families with access to SFLC and community programs and services. The Specialist will offer staff support and ensure smooth operations of all facets of the SFLC’s work including center- and school-based and community events.

Preferred Qualification:
• Fluent in Spanish and English
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to work as an effective team member
• Exhibits ability to multitask on a regular basis
• Exhibits friendly and professional demeanor
• Works well with a range of different individuals
• Possesses excellent phone etiquette
• Is capable of multitasking efficiently on a regular basis
• Exhibits strong organizational skills
• Demonstrates excellent time-management skills
• Deep commitment to closing opportunity gaps and promoting equitable practices

Responsibilities:
• Coordinate registration for various SFLC programs
• Assist in on-boarding and orientation for new SFLC staff
• Serve as a clearing house for resources available to families and community members
• Create and maintain internal systems for all areas of programming
• Collaborate in the development of internal and external communication systems
• Provide resource and referral information to families
• Collect and organize data related to family information and maintain information changes in data systems
• Maintain inventory of SFLC supplies and materials
• Participate in staff meetings to support program planning
• Commits to providing and promoting equitable practices to ensure access for all families
• Other duties as required

Terms of Employment:
Work Year: 12 months / Up to 18.75 hours per week
Salary: Local Funding Source
