Job Description
POSITION TITLE: Non-Instructional Aide

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Non-Instructional Assistant is responsible for completing a variety of clerical and/or supervisory tasks assigned by the Building Principal (lunch and recess supervision and front desk coverage).

WAGE CATEGORY: Grade A. Non-Exempt (hourly)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Per School Board and Support Staff Agreement if position exceeds 20 hours per week; otherwise, per current Handbook for Non-Union Support Staff Personnel.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated annually, in writing and in person, by the building principal consistent with the process described in the School Board/Support Staff Agreement if position exceeds 20 hours per week; otherwise, per current Handbook for Non-Union Support Staff Personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Experience and/or ability to effectively supervise students.
3. Flexibility in dealing with a variety of tasks and situations.
4. Demonstrated dependability, responsibility, and efficiency.
5. Commitment to the District’s mission and Strategic Plan.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Supervise a safe and orderly environment for students during lunch and recess.
2. Enforce district policies and school procedures related to student supervision/management.
3. Report any accidents or serious infractions of school rules to the planning room staff or a teacher in charge as soon as possible.
4. Assume routine front desk clerical tasks.
5. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a safe school environment and to complete school based tasks.
6. Perform other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Building Principal.
