ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY FOR THE
2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR

School Wellness Champions
DISTRICT WIDE

Job Goal: To create a culture of health and wellness at your school

Responsibilities:
• Assess & support implementation of the district wellness policy at your school
• Create a wellness action plan in collaboration with admin and other staff members
• Coordinate Walk & Bike to School days
• Support staff wellness promotion
• Organize and promote school-based and district wellness initiatives and events such as Screen-Free Week, Wellness Week, Mindfulness Meet-ups, classroom movement challenges, healthy fundraisers and family wellness nights
• Share wellness information through newsletters and emails with staff and families
• Attend quarterly district wellness meetings

Qualifications:
• Commitment to health and wellness
• Member of Somerville Public School staff

Terms of Employment:
• $25 per hour
• Not to exceed 40 hours (September-June)

Position Reports to: District Wellness Coordinator
