Job Description
The Arlington Public Schools is seeking a licensed Reading Specialist or a Special Educator with Wilson Certification for its Extended School Year Program.

Extended School Year Program Structure
Date: July 8, 2019 – August 15, 2019
Time: Monday – Thursday (9:00am – 12:00p

    Staff Expectations
    ? All summer staff will be expected to attend a 1.25 hour planning session, prior to the end of the school year. Details to come. Planning time is not compensated separately as it is built into the daily rate paid during the summer session.
    ? ESY 2019 will be one 6-week program NOT two 3-week sessions.
    o All teachers and TAs are expected to commit to the full 6 weeks and schedule vacations around ESY

    o Classroom Teachers and Related Service Providers will collect regular data towards existing IEP goals.
    o Classroom Teachers and Related Service Providers will take and maintain daily attendance.
    o Classroom Teachers and Related Service Providers will complete ALL student summer performance reports by the start of day on August 15, 2019.
    o Classroom Teachers and Related Service Providers will combine student performance reports into one document for parent(s) and district file
    o Classroom Teachers will (1) Address and seal envelopes containing summer summaries by the start of day on August 15, 2019, and (2) Print two copies: one to be sent home to families, and one to be provided to the administrative assistant for student’s special education file (maintained in the district office.)

    Preschool students will be at Menotomy Preschool
    Current grades: K-4 students and incoming Grade K students will be at Pierce
    Current grades: 5-7 students will be at Gibbs
    Current grades: 8-11 students will be at AHS

    A background check - fingerprinting and CORI - is required for all employees prior to beginning work.

    Wilson Certification is required for this position.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Bachelor degree preferred
